Aid Information Advisor/Consultant
Publish What You Fund (http://www.publishwhatyoufund.org) create the annual Aid Transparency Index (http://www.publishwhatyoufund.org/index/).
In preparation for the next Index which will start in October this year, they are recruiting an Aid Information Advisor/Consultant to help them with the more technical aspect of their Index.
I am mailing to see if anyone on this list might be interested - or know of anyone who might be interested - in the role.
The Aid Information Advisor will support the Research and Monitoring workstream of Publish What You Fund. Specifically, they will lead on the development and maintenance of tools for monitoring aid transparency and support with the production of the 2015/16 Aid Transparency Index. This will include technical advocacy; supporting with the data collection process; maintaining data collection tools; conducting data analysis; and drafting results for Index products.
The Aid Information advisor will maintain and develop the Aid Transparency Tracker that enables data collection for the Aid Transparency Index since 2013. The software is written in Python and is open source, with the code available on Github: http://github.com/pwyf/IATI-Data-Quality.
The Aid Information Advisor will need to have the following technical skills:
High level of IT literacy, including knowledge of Python and HTML and familiarity with GitHub repositories.
Understanding of XML data and schemas, willingness to learn working with IATI XML.
Experience of conducting data sensitivity analysis.
Experience of advocacy or policy development.
